After we bought the cottage, we completely renovated it. Yet, it remained unchanged from the outside: the outside walls are covered in cca 8.000 wooden shingles which are handmade locally and are a part of the local tradition which still uses them to provide additional insulation from the cold winters. First floor has two spacious equal sized rooms, each with a king sized bed and a sofa that extends into a bed.
Relaxation
On the ground floor, there is a sauna room with a shower. Behind the house is a terrace to enjoy sunsets and warm evenings.
3 bathrooms
Each bedroom has a bathroom with a bathtub, and there are an additional toilet and a shower on the ground floor.
Fireplace
Our cozy living room features a big, comfy sofa that sits opposite to a fireplace—perfect to enjoy chilly evenings.
Modern kitchen
The kitchen is well equipped with an oven, induction plate, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster, pots, and necessities like salt and oil.
Media system
The cottage has Wi-Fi. The smart TV includes Netflix and similar apps. A Hi-Fi audio system allows you to stream your favorite music.
Car parking
You can park your car in the sheltered parking below the cottage. There is space for 3 cars. Paved path leads to the cottage.
MTB E-bikes
In the shed at the parking lot, you will find 4 premium e-bikes with helmets. There are also badminton and archery equipment.
Before us, our cottage belonged to the Croatian Woods, a national forestry company. We restored it using traditional wooden shingles on the outside that are handmade and local in the region of Gorski kotar.

The location is ideal for hiking and spending time in nature. It is located next to the unique National park Risnjak which has a diverse wildlife. Also, there are many castles and museums worth visiting in the area.
